Andrea Marie Tisch

Andrea Marie Tisch, age 52, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2024. Andrea was born on September 26, 1971 to Francis and Janet Finn as the third of 4 children and became a lifelong resident of Shelby Township. She graduated from Eisenhower High School and went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree from Oakland University. Andrea spent a number of years working at Beaumont Hospital in Troy and it was there that one of her co-workers (and future sister-in-law) set her and Danny up on a blind date. From then on, they were inseparable and married August 16, 1997, at St. Kieran Catholic Church, followed by a honeymoon in the Poconos Mountains. In 2001 Andrea and Danny were blessed with the birth of their son, Johnny, and together built a simple and joy-filled life centered upon their faith, family and community. It was through motherhood that Andrea revealed her true superpowers. She dedicated herself to volunteering at school, nurturing friendships and supporting extracurricular activities. There were few things Andrea enjoyed more than cheering Johnny on to success in all his athletic endeavors. She understood successful programs require underlying support, and where there was work to be done, Andrea got busy contributing her time and efforts to help out. This was especially true at Utica High School where she could be found working concession stands, keeping score, and lending support in every facet of Utica athletics. She had a special gift for remembering the nuanced rules of games and was happy to ensure everyone else (especially opposing teams) understood them as well. Andrea was a devout Catholic who loved our Lord. She was an amazing example of a loving and supportive wife and lived out her faith through many acts of kindness that included teaching religious education, engaging with elderly relatives, volunteering at church and providing encouragement to others. Andrea was the proud Godmother of nieces Nicole Finn and Madeline Pittel, and nephews Adam Tisch and Luke Wiegand. Andrea loved bright shades of magenta, board games, the Detroit Tigers and rooting for MSU. Her garden was always lined with beautiful begonias. She was an excellent cook and for many years took the time to bake and decorate custom cakes celebrating the birthdays of her nieces and nephews. Andrea was especially close with her sister, Christy, and cherished relationships with family, cousins and many, many friends. She loved and was loved very much, and will be deeply missed by all of us. Andrea is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Daniel; her son, Johnny; parents, Janet and Francis Finn; siblings, Joseph Finn (Sherry), Jeff Finn (Lisa), and Christine Pittel (David); nieces and nephews, Nicole Finn, Benjamin Wiegand, Samuel Wiegand, Adam Tisch, Peyton Finn, Luke Wiegand, Alayna Tisch, Ashley Pittel, William Wiegand, Madeline Pittel, Brendan Pittel, Andrew Wiegand, and Aaron Tisch. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 1pm to 8pm, with a rosary service at 7pm at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road (3 blocks East of Van Dyke), Utica. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, February 2, 2024 at 10am at St. Kieran Catholic Church, 53600 Mound Road, Shelby Township, MI 48316. The family will be receiving friends and loved ones in the gathering space beginning at 9am. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the Capuchin Retreat Center62460 Mt. Vernon Rd.
