Dennis Warren Kipp

Dennis Warren Kipp, a beloved resident of Royal Oak, MI, passed away on April 15, 2024, at the age of 77, surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Detroit, MI, Dennis was the cherished son of Frank and Ethel Dirkse. Dennis found lifelong companionship in Lynette Lindsay, whom he married on August 15, 1981, at The First Presbyterian Church in Royal Oak, MI. Their union was a testament to love and partnership, enriching the lives of all who knew them. A proud Army Veteran, Dennis served his country with honor and dedication. Following his military service, he pursued his passion as the owner of Veteran Chimney Sweep, where he provided warmth and safety to countless homes in his community. Beyond his professional endeavors, Dennis's greatest source of pride was his role as a devoted father and grandfather. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, forever cherished by his children: Becky (Kevin) Novack, Kate (Adam) Verville and Al (Sara) Kipp. Along with his adored grandchildren: Henry, Grant, and Frank Novack. Maxine and Otto Verville. Theo and Ben Kipp and one additional Verville grandchild on the way. Dennis will also be missed by his beloved mini schnauzer, Sooty. Dennis embraced life with enthusiasm, finding joy in simple pleasures and treasured pastimes. To Dennis, golf was more than a sport; it was a lifelong passion and he reveled in the joy of camaraderie and friendly competition (his hole-in-one never to be forgotten), creating lasting bonds with each swing of the club. A wonderful cook, and family man to the core, Dennis’s Sunday roast dinners will be carried on in his memory. His lakeside retreat in Hawks, MI, provided solace and serenity, where he enjoyed life up at the lake for the past thirty years. His recent fulfillment of purchasing his dream property on the lake in August of 2023 was a testament to his lifelong dreams realized. Left to carry on Dennis's memory are his devoted wife, Lynette; his children; his grandchildren. Though he has departed this world, Dennis's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents, Frank and Ethel, Dennis was preceded in death by his daughter, Anna Scripps. While his physical presence may be gone, his memory will endure as a beacon of love and light. A memorial gathering to celebrate Dennis's life will be held at Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Directors in Royal Oak (705 W. Eleven Mile) on Friday, April 19, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a Sharing of Memories commencing at 6:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest with military honors at Great Lakes National Cemetery, a final tribute to his service and sacrifice. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Disabled Veterans of America or Vietnam Veterans of America, in honor of Dennis's commitment to serving others.
