Marie Therese Isaacson

Marie Therese Isaacson, age 81, of Sterling Heights, passed away on August 25, 2024. Marie was born on December 5, 1942 to Edward Ferdinand Charest and Alida Anne Charest (née Richard). She grew up as the youngest of five children and attended Shrine Schools in Royal Oak. In January of 1961, Marie married Edwin William Isaacson. They divorced in 1968, but from that union were born Marie’s three children whom she raised successfully as a single mother. Professionally, Marie made her career as a stylist. She worked at Gordon’s Salon in Bloomfield, Great Things Beauty Salon in downtown Royal Oak, and her own three salons that she operated under the name, Theresa’s Touch of Class. Exceptionally skilled in her craft, Marie was a personal stylist to country recording artist, Mark Barrett, and she toured the world teaching the art of color for Sun Glitz and Farouk. She also served on the industry oversight boards for Oakland County and the State of Michigan. Rounding out her professional hours, Marie also enjoyed working at Raskeller Bar and Sir Charles Pub in Royal Oak. In her free time, Marie loved to travel with her close group of ladies. She was also very fond of her two dogs, Cookie and Sugar, who predeceased her. But above all, Marie was the rock of her family who instilled strong ethics and family values in her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed, but her love and legacy will live on. Marie will be remembered as the loving mother of Barbara (the late David), Edwin (Candace), and James (Janet). The proud grandmother of Aaron, Alida, Ashton, Crystal, Courtney, Ian, Jason, Jimmy, and William; and great-grandmother of Colt, Easton, Felix, Gabriel, Gracie, Jayce, Kinsley, Lincoln, London, Opal, Raven, and Troy. Visitation for Marie will be held on Thursday, August 29 from 2 - 8 p.m. at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W. Eleven Mile Rd. (four blocks east of Woodward), Royal Oak. Her funeral service will take place on Friday, August 30, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
