Thomas Milgie

Thomas James Milgie, aged 72, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2023, at Bay Breeze Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Venice, Florida. Born on September 12, 1950, Tom was the beloved son of James and Marie (Kreucher) Milgie, originally from Detroit, Michigan. Tom's life was a beautiful tapestry of passion and love. He found immense joy in spending time outdoors, particularly when he had a fishing rod in hand. Tom cherished those moments even more when he had the opportunity to share his love for fishing with his nieces and nephews, passing down the art of angling to the next generation. When he wasn't casting lines into the water, Tom would be found in the kitchen, whipping up delicious meals for his family and friends. His culinary skills were unmatched, and his dishes brought warmth and comfort to those who tasted them. A man of many talents, Tom had a keen eye for photography, always seeking to capture the essence of a moment and preserve it for posterity. Alongside this, he was a skilled handyman, using his knowledge to help others and improve the lives of those around him. Tom's memory will forever be cherished by his surviving brothers: Michael (Vickie) Milgie, William (Laura) Milgie, and Gerald (Adriana) Milgie; and his sister, Suzanne (Dennis) Mahoney. Additionally, he leaves behind a legacy of love through his 13 nieces and nephews and 16 great-nieces and great-nephews. He now reunites with his parents, James and Marie Milgie, and stepmother Sally Milgie, who preceded him in death, in the eternal embrace of peace and love. A memorial visitation will be held at Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Home, (8459 Hall Rd, Utica, Michigan) on Friday, August 18, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A prayer service will commence at 6:00 p.m. to honor and remember Tom's life. His Memorial Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, beginning at 10:00 a.m. with memorial visitation begins 9:30 a.m. Friends and family will gather to bid farewell to this remarkable soul and find comfort in each other's presence.
