Alice Falk

Falk, Alice P. (nee Popkie) age 93, former resident of Warren and Florida, peacefully passed away at her home on June 1, 2017. Alice was born in Shortcreek Township, Ohio on September 27, 1923 to the late Zigmont and Helen Popkie. Her family moved north to Michigan early in her youth and she later graduated from high school in Detroit. Shortly after high school she met Frederick C. Falk, who quickly became the apple of her eye. The two married on May 9, 1942 and World War II took to the world stage shortly after. Frederick was drafted and served a long three years away from his new wife and child. In Frederick's absence, ever-devoted Alice impeccably balanced the home life and her clerical job with Uniroyal Tires (where she would work for over 20 years and later retire from). Frederick fortunately returned home from the war and the two continued writing the tale of their unmatched year love affair for 68 wonderful years. In their retirement years they lived in Florida for a time, spending every moment possible together, and traveled near and far as a dynamic duo. In their golden years together, Alice was never far from Frederick and cared for him in every capacity that she could. They were each other's world from beginning to end. Alice will be remember by those she touched for her sarcastic and sassy sense of humor that was out of this world. Her intellect and wit were always sharp as a tack. She was simple, had a steel trap memory, made the best with the cards she was dealt, was a financial wizard, and frankly, probably could've made it as a surgeon. Beloved wife of the late Frederick C. Falk for 68 years; loving mother to the late Frederick C. Falk Jr. and David J. Falk; proud grandmother to Steven F. (Margaret) O'Donnell and Sandra (Mike Harden) Phillips; great-grandmother to Sage and David; daughter to the late Zigmont and Helen Popkie; sister to the late Martha Wychor, Valentine Ritter, and Ronald Popkie; she is also survived by her devoted sister-in-law, Diane Popkie.
