Annette L. Konupek

Annette Lucinda Konupek of Port Sanilac and Macomb, Michigan and Ft. Myers, Florida passed away suddenly on Jan 9, 2022 in Cartersville, GA. Annette was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on June 28, 1945 to Florine Ada (nee Ray) and Rolla Otto Durbin. Anxiously awaiting her birth was big brother Roger Durbin and when Annette arrived, the family was complete. She was preceded in death by her parents and big brother Roger. Survivors include her loving husband of 44 years Robert (Bob), her sister-in-law Jeanette (Roger’s wife), Linda & Robert Scott (sister-in-law and brother-in-law), nieces Natalie Trott, Valerie Young, Stephanie Rife, Lindsay Radzik and nephews Greg Durbin, Jeff Durbin, Tony Durbin and Rob Scott along many additional great nieces and nephews and one great-great nephew. Annette loved all of her nieces and nephews very much and always remembered them, as well as their children, on their birthdays. Annette received her BSN degree in nursing from Indiana University in 1967. She then went on to become a pediatric Nurse Practitioner working in the health department in Denver. After moving back with her husband to Michigan, she took a job with the Macomb County Health Department where she managed 4 well child clinics providing guidance and instruction to new mothers. She also developed a pamphlet titled “Watch Me Grow” which was very informative and supported the county’s well child plan. She retired in 2000 and continued to focus on her hobbies which included quilting, sewing, reading and gardening. Annette was the love of my life. We met in Denver in 1975 and were married in New Haven, Indiana on June 25, 1977. She was just a beautiful person on the outside and inside with a laugh that was memorable. We had a great life! We enjoyed traveling to Europe and the Baltics on Viking Cruise Line. She got to see a ballet in Russia which was one of the highlights of the trip. She was loved and adored by everyone. I will miss her laugh, smile and love that nurtured our marriage through the years. Please remember Annette and I in your prayers. She is God’s newest angel and I now have a guardian angel. You will always be in my heart. I love you forever!
