Arlene M. Naas

Arlene M. Naas, age 96, passed away on January 19, 2026. Arlene Mae Fredericks was born on February 4, 1929, and raised in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Anthony and Alice (Krusyna) Fredericks. In the summer of 1947, she met Frederick A. Naas at a picnic in a Flint park. Fred was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran who was attending GMI at the time. The two were married on September 11, 1948. Arlene and Fred made their home in Royal Oak beginning in 1949, where they built two family homes and raised their five children. Arlene devoted her life to her family as a homemaker and was especially well known for her cooking, canning, and baking. Her talents earned her multiple awards at the Michigan State Fair, a source of great pride for her and her family. Arlene was a longtime and devoted member of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church in Beverly Hills. She had a joyful spirit and a lifelong love of dancing, which found a special outlet through her involvement with “The Sizzlers,” a senior women’s tap and hula dance group in Royal Oak. Dancing brought her happiness and allowed her vibrant personality to shine. Arlene will be remembered for her warmth, dedication to her family, and the joy she brought into the lives of those around her. She was the beloved wife of the late Frederick Naas, who preceded her in death in 2004. Arlene was a loving and devoted mother to James (Paula) Naas, Catherine (the late Larry) Zimmerman, Dennis (Leigh Ann) Naas, Michael Naas, and Marianne Naas. She was a proud grandmother to Matthew (Heather) Naas, Peter (Carrie) Naas, Amanda (Kenneth) Crum, Nicole (Steve) Pelczarski, Jason (Kim) Zimmerman, Bianca Randall, Lillian John, and Emma John, and a cherished great-grandmother to Montana Naas, Alex Naas, Audrey Naas, Liza Naas, Madelaine Crum, Isabelle Crum, Hayden Crum, Corban Crum, Hannah Pelczarski, Trevor Pelczarski, Stella Zimmerman, Layla Zimmerman, Zackary Randall, and Mason Randall.
