Barbara G. Nenninger

Barbara G. Nenninger (nee' Halpape), a cherished resident of Clinton Township, gracefully and peacefully completed her earthly journey on Sunday, May 12, 2024, in Troy, Michigan. Born on October 27, 1937, in Detroit to her late parents Henry and Freda (nee' Eschtruth) Halpape, Barbara led a life rich in love, community, and family. Barbara was a beloved member of numerous senior groups in the area, with a special fondness for the Clinton Township Seniors. Among friends, she engaged in spirited rounds of cards and games, enjoying the camaraderie of luncheon gatherings. Her zest for life extended beyond social circles, as she found joy in reading, baking, exploring new destinations through travel in her younger days, and most importantly, spending cherished moments with her beloved family. "Grams" had a special bond with her grandchildren. In the tapestry of her life, Barbara shared decades of companionship with her late husband, Robert Nenninger. As a devoted mother, her nurturing embrace touched the lives of her children Bonnie (Bruce) Fielder, Kathy (John) Banasik, Kenneth (Trudy) Nenninger, and Karen (Tony) Cook, guiding them with wisdom and affection through life's many chapters. Barbara's legacy of love extends beyond her children to embrace her grandchildren: Sandra (Mike Tetsworth) Eagle, Ashley (Nicole) Wamsley, Brian (Deanna) Fielder, Benjamin Fielder, Robert Nenninger, Jacqueline Nenninger, Matthew Cook, and Rachel Cook. Each grandchild was a testament to her unconditional love and support, weaving cherished memories that will endure for generations to come. The joy of Barbara's life was further enriched by the arrival of her great-grandchildren, Brennan, Evelyn, and Theodore, who brought laughter and warmth into her days, illuminating her world with their innocence and wonder. Barbara's memory will forever be cherished by her sister Helene (the late Lou) Pranger, along with her nieces and nephew Debra Pranger, Rick (Sherry) Pranger, and Nancy (Ron) Day, and a host of extended family and dear friends whose lives she touched with her kindness and grace. Family and friends will be gathering to honor Barbara with a visitation and funeral service on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home 8459 Hall Road (3 Blks E of Van Dyke) Utica from 10 am until time of the service at 2 pm. A private interment will take place at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East Cemetery, Clinton Township, Michigan. In honor and memory of Barbara G.
