Betsy J. Saunders

Betsy Jean Saunders, a vibrant personality who lit up every room with her laughter, passed away February 16, 2025 at the age of 81. She was born on December 24, 1943 in East Aurora, New York to Alexander and Betty Mack along with her sister Fay and her brother Timothy. Betsy graduated from East Aurora High School in 1961. She met her husband Bruce Saunders while they were both working at Fisher Price. The two were married on October 10, 1970 in West Falls, New York and together they built a life filled with love. They had together a once in a lifetime love story for 54 years. They raised three children together in Shelby Township, Michigan while running their own landscaping business. Then they moved to Florida where they owned a home on a golf course in Bonita Springs, Florida where they enjoyed golfing everyday before moving back to Michigan. Betsy was a woman of impeccable taste and enjoyed decorating, shopping, traveling, and spending time with her family. Unfortunately, Betsy was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. She was surrounded by her family and had been under the care of the Martha T. Berry Medical Facility in Mount Clemens, Michigan; where she received amazing care and her family is very grateful to the wonderful staff who took such loving care of her. Betsy leaves behind the loves of her life, her husband Bruce Saunders and her three children, Kimberley Saunders (Richard Wirsing), Michael Saunders, and Bruce Saunders Jr. (Catherine Radloff), and daughter-in-law Kelly Saunders. Betsy was also a loving and adoring grandmother to Lindsey Moore (Michael), and Courtney Saunders and her great grandchildren Madilyn, Isabella, and Michael. Memorial visitation will be Saturday, February 22nd, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of her Memorial Service at 4:00 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road (3 blocks EAST of Van Dyke Avenue, on the NORTH side of Hall Road), Utica. In memory of Betsy, memorial donations may be made in lieu of flowers to Martha T. Berry Medical Facility. All donations go directly to providing extra benefits to the residents.
