Brian C. Cauley

Brian C. Cauley, age 77, a resident of Lake Orion, passed away March 25, 2016. He was born August 12, 1938 in Detroit to the late Eugene and Marie Cauley. Brian was a talented electrician and did not retire until the age of 70. Known to be a "jack-of-all-trades", Brian enjoyed fixing things and helping people. He loved listening to music and dancing with his wife, Colleen. He also loved being on the water, so whenever there was an opportunity, he would go to his daughter Marie's cabin in Waters and Cindy's home on Lake Tyrone. Brian was not only an avid Detroit sports fan, but the biggest fan and supporter of his family's activities and sports. He truly was a wonderful husband and a dedicated family man. His favorite holiday was Christmas Eve, when he was able to spend time with all the generations of his family. When he did have some free time, Brian enjoyed watching the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Downtown Abbey. Beloved husband of Colleen for 50 years; the couple married June 25, 1965 in Hazel Park. Loving father to Marie (Randy) Karas, Murray Moore, Cynthia (Mark) Larson, Girard (Audrey) Moore, Steven (Lissa) Cauley, and Daniel (Donielle) Moore. Dearest grandfather to Patrick Gajos, Brandon Barrett, Shana (John Detherage) Barrett, Eric (Jennifer) Karas, Joshua (Brandy) Karas, Thomas Moore, Joshua (Colleen) Kirtland, Michael (Shanon) Kirtland, Elizabeth Larson, Lauren (Babacar) Dsigo, Kayla Larson, Jonathan (Courtney) Moore, Kurtis Moore, Joseph Moore, Andrew Moore, Heather (Andrew) Swearingen, Nathan Moore, and Tyler Moore. Great-grandfather to Erica Karas, Charleigh Karas, Adam Karas, Jack Karas, Jayda Karas, Nico Karas, Kathleen Kirtland, Alina Kirtland, Alex Kirtland, Mikayla Kirtland, Nathaniel Kirtland, Abby Kirtland, Daxton Kirtland, Jamal Dsigo, Nathan Moore-Hendersen, Savanah Moore, and Olivia Swearingen. Loved brother to the late Patrick Cauley, Noreen (the late Joseph) Lordon, Terrance (Ann) Cauley, Mary Jo Murrell, the late Catherine (Henry, living) Whiteley, and Christopher (Beverly) Cauley. Best friend of late Fred Hamilton. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 30, 2016 from 2-8 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Home, 705 W. Eleven Mile Road (4 blocks E. of Woodward), Royal Oak. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment in Roseland Park Cemetery, Berkley.
