Carl Zieldorff

Carl Zieldorff, loving husband, dad, and grandfather of Huntington Woods, passed away on Monday November 21st, days after his 92 birthday in the home he shared with his wife Agnes, surrounded by loved ones. Carl was the dear and devoted father to Debbie (the late Paul) Picmann, Carol (the late David) Foster, Linda (Tom) Tedesco, Joseph (Sue) Zieldorff and Michael (Joni) Zieldorff. Cherished GrandFather of Danny (Marisa) Picmann, Andy (Tracy) Picmann, Stefanie (Nicholas) Tadman, Victoria (Jose) Santrich, Amanda (Tom) Whitmore, Nick Zieldorff, David Crane, Patricia Crane, Carl Crane, Stephanie Tesori. Great GrandFather of Ryan Carl Zieldorff, Addison Zieldorff, Lucia Santrich, Violet Santrich, Madelyn Santrich, Leo Picmann, Benji Picmann, Graham Picmann, Reid Picmann, Mckenzie Lee, Cassady Morgan, Avery Morgan, Camron Crane, Addalyn Tesori, Aiden Tesori, Amaryllis Lamprach, Wesley Tadman, and his newest Great Grandchild Baby Girl Whitmore due in March 2023. Carl was born in Algonac, Michigan, on November 16th, 1930 to parents Henrick and Hattie Zieldorff. Carl grew up by the water, fishing daily and spending time with his brother Meyer and sister Clara. Carl was 24 when he and Agnes married. Early in his career, Carl sailed on freighter boats on the Great Lakes. This came as no surprise to his loved ones, as the water was his favorite place to be. Eventually, Carl shifted careers and worked as a boiler room technician at Ford Motor Company. He was loyal to Ford and retired from there after more than 30 years. Carl loved completing puzzles and eating chips in his recliner while watching the news- mainly for the weather report. He was most known however for his generosity of his time, devotion, and love for his family. He was often found holding and playing with grandchildren, helping the neighbors with their snow, volunteering to paint family members' homes, fix a broken appliance, or walk their dog. His famous line was "Is there anything I can do" and he meant it. He will be deeply missed by so many.
