Carol Bender

Carol Ann Bender, 84, passed away on August 7, 2026. She was born in Detroit in 1942 and graduated from Lutheran High East Carol married her husband David in 1960. They lived their entire lives together in Detroit until Dave's untimely passing in 2009. Carol remained in Michigan until her final days and she is survived by her daughter Elyse. Carol worker as a loan specialist and as a caring mother and grandmother to her four favorite people in the entire world; whose events she would never miss. Carol was a genuine person full of love for both God and family. There was never a time she could not be convinced to participate in a whimsical adventure in which she was commandeered. Carol's grandchildren believe to this day that they are the most successful salespeople of all-time thru volume and the fact these treasures remained in her possession until her final day. Her silly and eccentric nature was always on display, as well as her trademark red lipstick and dangling earrings. Carol's laugh and loving voice would fill up every room she entered, and nobody could miss her entrance into the fray. Silliness was always accompanied by her favorite treats of Cheetos, garden salsa Sunchips, bags and bags and bags of chocolates and ice cream galore. No party will ever be the same for this family from here on out with the absence of the generous plate of her famous eclairs. Generous beyond reproach she would ensure everyone could participate in the tip jar at Mongolian Barbeque and the charities she found that day in her mail she would support without a second thought. Carol was accepting of everyone and always looking for an opportunity to help and intercede to enhance her people. What will be missed the most is her silly and brilliant nature that radiated everywhere she went. A keen Pictionary player who has the fastest guessed answer of "faucet" that will live forever in infamy with those who love her the most. There truly was no one more authentic than Carol Bender. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Marie, as well as her dear husband David who whom she shared 49 incredible years. She leaves behind her legacy in her beloved daughter Elyse and her husband Joe who will tell you Carol "was a Good Mother-in-Law". Her devotion and silliness will be missed deeply by her grandchildren Faith, Grace, Joy, and Joseph. A funeral service will take place on Friday, August 14, 2026 at Glen Eden Memorial Park 35667 W. EIght Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan in the Cemetery Chapel at 11am. The family asks instead of flowers, send a check to the next charity that accompanies your mail you may have never noticed before… they all are sorely going to miss Carol. Nowhere near as much as her family she filled with love and laughter... oh that laugh was infectious in all the right ways.
