Carol J. Henze, age 81, beloved resident of Sterling Heights, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 10, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones at her cherished residence. Born on August 19, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Ridley and Mary (née Judd) Stone. In her vibrant and fulfilling life, Carol wore many hats, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. During her younger years, she shared her nurturing spirit as a nursery school teacher, touching the lives of countless children with her caring guidance. As she transitioned into her role as a dedicated homemaker, she poured her heart and soul into creating a warm and welcoming home for her family. On May 4, 1963, in Detroit, Michigan, Carol united her life with the love of her life, Kent B. Henze. Their union was a testament to enduring love and companionship, a partnership that brought joy and strength to each other's lives. Carol was not only a loving wife and mother but also a vibrant and active member of her community. She shared her talents as a writer, contributing articles to neighborhood newsletters that connected her neighbors and friends. Her enthusiasm extended to the bowling lanes, where she joined her local bowling league, forging strong bonds and creating cherished memories. One of Carol's most cherished pastimes was crafting. She found joy in creating beautiful greeting cards, meticulously scrapbooking moments that mattered most, and expressing her creativity in countless ways. Her generous spirit shone through in her thoughtfully made gifts, spreading happiness to all who were fortunate enough to receive them. A social butterfly with a magnetic personality, Carol's laughter was infectious and her humor quick-witted. Her ability to light up a room with her presence and bring smiles to the faces of those around her was truly a gift. She reveled in the company of her friends and family, especially her beloved granddaughter Ashley, whose joy brought immense happiness to her heart. Carol was preceded in death by her loving husband Kent B. Henze and her daughter Melissa Wakulat. She is survived by her children Kelli (Gerry) Zelenak and Scott (Karen) Henze, as well as her son-in-law Dale Wakulat. Her loving and caring granddaughter Ashley (James) Denomme. She was the cherished sister of the late Evelyn Wingate and sister-in-law of Robert Wingate. Her memory lives on through numerous nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of friends. Carol's departure leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her. Her legacy of love, humor, and generosity will continue to inspire and uplift generations to come. As we bid farewell to a remarkable woman, may her memory be a source of comfort and strength, reminding us to cherish each moment and live life with the same vibrancy and joy that she brought to all those whose lives she touched.
