Catherine M. Stonehouse

Catherine Marie Stonehouse (nee Bielawski), born on February 12th, 1959, aged 66, ascended to her eternal home on July 11th 2025. Catherine was born in Detroit, MI, and grew up in Fraser, MI, earned a Bachelors of Art in Art History from the University of Michigan. She loved to travel and spent her last semester of college in Florence, Italy, exploring the beautiful countryside and cities, as well as Belgium and Germany. She most notably worked for Greenfield Village, Henry Ford Museum as a Historic Presenter, and in the Archives and Library. Catherine married her husband William in May of 1986 at the Martha-Mary Chapel at Greenfield Village. He shared her love of travel, and together they visited Italy, France, England and Cancun for their honeymoon. Catherine was a loving and devoted mother, a fantastic cook, and a lifelong student of etiquette. Catherine expressed herself artistically with her beautiful jewelry-making and house painting company, In The House Designs. She was also a dedicated Girl Scout Troop Leader for many years. She was also an avid lover of giraffes and pickles. Catherine is survived by her husband William Stonehouse II, her children William Stonehouse III (Autumn) and Sarah Pontone (Christopher); her grandchildren Lillian and Henry Pontone. Catherine is also survived by her father, Ralph Bielawski, her mother in law Patricia Stonehouse, her sister Janet Martin (William), her brothers in law Frank Stonehouse and Christian Stonehouse (Nancy), as well as her nieces Cassidee and Cheyenne Martin, and Gabriela and Natalie Stonehouse. Catherine was preceded in death by her mother Theresa Bielawski (nee Gregory) and her brother, John Bielawski. Family and will celebrate Catherine's life with a visitation on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home 8459 Hall Road (3 Blks E. of Van Dyke) Utica from 2-8pm with a prayer service at 5pm. Catherine will lie instate on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 from 9:30 am until time of mass 10 am at St. Paul of Tarsus Catholic Church 41300 Romeo Plank Road, Clinton Township. Burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made in her name to the The Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation P.O.
