Dennis Michaels

Dennis Michaels, a loving husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather, and proud great-grandfather, passed away on July 5, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. He was born on July 14, 1944, to the late George and Eunice Michaels. Dennis shared a remarkable journey through life with his beloved wife, Charlyn, whom he adored and cherished for 56 years. As a dedicated father, Dennis poured his heart and soul into raising his children and instilling in them the values of kindness, perseverance and family. He leaves behind a loving family, including his sons Steve Michaels, John (Linda) Michaels, Jeff (Michele) Michaels, his daughters Amy (Mike) Pivitt and Ashley Michaels. Dennis was a proud grandfather to Connor, Stevie (Jason), Molly (Jacob), Oscar, Jacob, Abbey, Emma, and Ella. He found immense joy in spending time with each of them. He was especially delighted to welcome Lucy into the world as his first and only great-grandchild. Dennis will also be missed by his sister Sandy (Roger) Dinger and his nephew Michael Dinger. Beyond his role as a devoted family man, Dennis possessed an unwavering passion for classic cars. Throughout his life, he actively participated in various classic car clubs including the East Side A's, Model A Club, the No Name Car Club and the Holy Cross Classic Cruisers. Dennis found great joy in being a part of a community that shared his love and passion. A few of his prized classics that he owned included a Model A, a '51 Buick and a '54 Chevy. In addition to his love for classic cars, Dennis's faith was an integral part of his life. He was a dedicated member of Trinity Lutheran Church for almost 50 years, finding solace and strength in his spiritual community. His unwavering belief and commitment to his faith were evident in the way he lived his life and treated those around him. A visitation will take place on Sunday (July 9th) at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home 8459 Hall Rd. (3Blks. E of Van Dyke) Utica, from 2pm - 8pm. Funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church 45160 Van Dyke Ave, Utica, on Monday (July 10th). He will lie instate at 10:30am until the time of service at 11am. In honor of Dennis's lifelong passion for classic cars, his family kindly requests that anyone attending the funeral service at Trinity Lutheran Church on Monday consider driving their own classic cars. This gesture will be a poignant tribute to a man who lived his life immersed in the world of classic automobiles. Please feel free to write a memory of Dennis on the Tribute Wall.
