Donald G. Moeller

Donald G. Moeller, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2025, at the age of 77. He was born on February 14, 1948, to Alvin and Irene Moeller. Donald grew up with a strong sense of family, hard work and dedication to those he loved. He proudly served as a Naval corpsman for the United States Marines during the Vietnam War, where he exemplified courage and commitment to his fellow servicemen. Following his military service, he built a successful 30-year career as a machine repairman with Ford Motor Company, contributing his skills and expertise to an industry he deeply admired. Donald had a passion for restoring cars, spending countless hours bringing classic automobiles back to life. He was a proud member of the Easy Rodders Car Club, Pharaohs Car Club, and the Saturday Morning Breakfast Club, where he found camaraderie with fellow car enthusiasts. His talents extended beyond mechanics; he was a gifted craftsman in woodworking, creating beautiful, handcrafted furniture and other pieces that reflected his meticulous skill and artistry. Above all, Donald was a man of generosity and kindness, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He cherished his time with family, especially his beloved wife of 51 years, Claudia. Together, they enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, including their cherished tradition of watching Wheel of Fortune and Hallmark movies together or enjoying a nice cruise in the Mercury Montclair. Donald was a loving father to Sandra LeBeau and Rachel Kinchsular and a proud grandfather to Lucas (Kayla) and Spencer. He is also survived by his dear brother, Bobby (the late Alice) Moeller, and sister-in-law, Linda Few, as well as his nieces and nephews, Kim (Jim) Ondrus, Mark (Tina) Moeller and their son Noah, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly. He is predeceased by his brother, Eugene (Genevieve) Moeller. His legacy of love, generosity and craftsmanship will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. A visitation to gather and celebration of Donald's life will be held at the Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Rd. (3Blks E. of Van Dyke) Utica, on Sunday (February 23rd) from 2pm - 8pm, with a service to honor the remarkable man he was at 6pm. His kindness, laughter and passion for life will never be forgotten.
