Dorothy Boddy

Dorothy Boddy passed away on August 4, 2023. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and a pillar of her community. She was born on January 26, 1938, and her life was a testament to kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion. Dorothy was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Charles, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and companionship. Together, they built a foundation of love, compassion, and service that touched the lives of countless individuals. Dorothy's legacy lives on through her children: Kim (Randy) Ciccotelli, Diane Burnard, and Paul (Heather) Boddy. She was not only a mother, but a guiding light, offering support, wisdom, and unconditional love. Her memory will forever be treasured by her grandchildren: Cassie (Brad), Phillip (Abigail), Dayna (Clayton), Josh, Eve, and Emma. Dorothy's joy knew no bounds when she became a great grandmother to Elizabeth, Eleanor, and Luna. She was also a beloved sister to John Cowan. Dorothy's faith was unwavering, and she was a proud founding member of St. Therese of Lisieux. Her commitment to her church and its community was a testament to her spiritual values and dedication to helping others. She also found fulfillment in giving back to her community, volunteering at the St. Leo Soup Kitchen alongside her beloved husband. Her compassionate heart and selflessness touched the lives of those less fortunate, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her. In addition to her charitable work, Dorothy enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She had a passion for golf and found solace on the greens, embracing the beauty of nature and the camaraderie of friends. Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating Dorothy's life during a funeral Mass at St. Therese of Lisieux on Wednesday (August 9th). She will lie instate at 9:30am until the time of Mass at 10am at St. Therese of Lisieux 48115 Schoenherr Rd, Shelby Twp, MI 48315. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the St. Leo Soup Kitchen. Dorothy's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with her beloved husband and watching over her family from above.
