Dorothy M Ferguson

Dorothy Mary Ann Ferguson, née Roux, 89, of Riverview, Florida and formerly of Oakland County, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on December 27, 2023, with her loving family at her side. Dorothy was born in Dearborn, Michigan on August 28, 1934, to the late Ernest and Victoria (née Goudreau) Roux. She married Marvin Ferguson at St. James Catholic Church in Ferndale, Michigan, at the young age of 18. The union produced 6 children, 7 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. Dorothy had a long career working for the Ferndale School District, most notably as a bus driver, until retiring in 1997. In retirement, Dorothy enjoyed traveling, word puzzles, making arts and crafts, and above all else, spending time with her family. She was a devout Catholic and a longtime member of St. Mary of the Hills Roman Catholic Church in Rochester Hills, Michigan, until moving to Florida. In Riverview, she attended St. Stephen Catholic Church. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Marvin Ferguson; daughter Karen Taylor; daughter-in-law Kathleen (Bueche) Ferguson; parents Ernest and Victoria (née Goudreau) Roux; and siblings Armand (Marie) Roux, Delores (Willard) Parsons, Ernest (Margie) Roux, Jr.; along with numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. She is survived by sons Steven, Michael, Brian, and Charlie (Lori) Ferguson; daughter Rebecca (Lance) Eggen; grandchildren Jennifer (Dean) Bond, Jason (April) Ferguson, Nicole and Kayla Eggen, Christopher, Andrea, and Sarah Ferguson; and great grandchildren Autumn, Savannah, and Logan Bond, and Asher Ferguson; sister Gloria (the late Bruce) Garrett; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy was a special person who meant a lot of things to many people. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, "adopted Mom", and close friend and confidant. She will be greatly missed and eternally loved. A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 7, from 2:00pm until 8:00pm, at Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Directors-Utica, 8459 Hall Road, Utica, MI 48317, with a Rosary Service at 7:00pm. The funeral Mass will be held on Monday, January 8 at 11:00 am at Saint Mary of the Hills Roman Catholic Church, 2675 John R Rd, Rochester Hills, MI 48307. Graveside service to follow at Holy Sepulchre, Southfield, Michigan.
