Frederick George Randall

Frederick G. Randall, age 81, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2021. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 6, 1940 to Jack and Sophia (nee Nowak) Randall. Fred was a longtime area resident and was a graduate of Shrine High School (Class of ’58). He attended Lawrence Technological University and later joined the United States Marine Corps. On February 8, 1964 Fred married his sweetheart, Helen Brophy at the Shrine of the Little Flower. Fred worked as an engineer in area companies, starting with a family business, Prenco in Royal Oak, and ultimately retiring from Trans Tube in Pontiac. Fred and his family enjoyed camping, traveling and celebrating everything. He was an avid bowler and golfer, and proudly bowled a 300 game at age 70 and made a hole-in-one at age 71! Through the years Fred and Helen also enjoyed bowling together in couples leagues. He also belonged to a golfing league up until this past spring. Fred had a zest for life and God, his family and friends were his priority. Fred was a lifelong member of the National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica, where he and Helen could almost always be seen ushering the 9:00 a.m. Mass. Beloved husband of Helen. Loving father of Aileen Randall, David Randall, Janeen (Anthony) Agbay, Koreen (Keith Henzie) Randall and the late Patrick Randall. Proud grandfather of James, Samantha, Anthony Jr., Aubrey and Abigayle. Dear brother of the late Gary (Noreen Vaerten) Randall. Brother-in-law to Betty and the late James Herman, Doris and the late William Nelson, Laura and Jens Faaborg, the late Barbara Brophy, Michael and Anne Brophy, Elena and Bob Wakeman, John and Robin Brophy and Patricia and the late James Carmichael. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Godfather to Scott Nelson. Visitation Monday 2-8 pm with 6 pm Rosary at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W. 11 Mile Road (4 blocks E. of Woodward), Royal Oak. In accordance with Covid-19 restrictions, masks must be worn and a maximum of 25 people are allowed at a time in the visitation room. Funeral Tuesday, in-state 9:30 am until time of Mass 10:00 am at National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica. The Mass will be live streamed at www.shrinechurch.com/mass-livestream.
