In Loving Memory GAIL ELIZABETH BUETER OCTOBER 19, 1950 – FEBUARY 21, 2024 With hearts full of love and cherished memories, we celebrate the life of Gail Bueter, who lived every moment with kindness, and an unwavering love of her family and friends. Gail appreciated bringing her family together for backyard barbecues and pool parties, and especially for the celebration of Christmas and Easter. Gail enjoyed a happy childhood growing up in Northwest Detroit, attending St. Mary of Redford School for 12 years. As a child she loved sports, being outdoors, boating on the Detroit River, and vacation time spent in cottages and cabins in Northern Michigan. After graduation in 1968, Gail began her career in the credit office for the S.S. Kresge Co., moving to the company headquarters in Troy, Michigan and working as an Administrative Secretary in the Pharmacy Department. Always punctual and reliable, Gail retired from the K-Mart Corporation in 2005 after 37 years of service. Embarking on her next adventure, in 2006 Gail moved to Traverse City and enjoyed her home on Tibbets Lake located next to her best friends, the Romanowski Family. Not one to sit still, she began her next career joining the Walgreens team, retiring for a second time in 2021 after 16 years. Gail was able to enjoy two winters in Florida exploring with her best friend, Joanne, in 2022 and 2023. Gail was an avid traveler, visiting Italy, Germany, France, Spain, Ireland, Japan, the former Yugoslavia, Africa, and Hawaii. She enjoyed bird-watching, reading, and solving puzzles. . Gail is predeceased by her parents Verne Joseph and Jeannette Hyde Bueter, sister Ann Jackson, brother Paul Bueter, and brother in-law Eugene Paterni. Gail is survived by sister Karen Paterni, sister in-law Rita Bueter, seven nieces, one nephew, seven great nephews, and six great nieces. We will miss Gail’s smile, her keen sense of humor, and her never-ending devotion to her family. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s of Royal Oak at 10:00 am (gathering at 9:30) on Saturday, March 9th.
