George Constantine Bonnier age 72 Born October 1, 1952 Detroit, Michigan Died February 2, 2025 Royal Oak, Michigan It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of George Bonnier, a beloved father, brother, uncle, and friend, who left this world far too soon. George was a rare soul-one whose kindness, generosity, and loyalty made an indelible mark on the lives of all who knew him. A devoted father, George poured love and care into his family, always putting others first. He was a selfless caregiver, giving tirelessly to his parents and to many others throughout his life. His unwavering dedication to those he loved was a testament to his incredible character, and he will be remembered for the deep bonds he built over the years. George was not only a loving family man but also an extraordinary friend. He was one of the few who kept childhood friendships close throughout his life-his loyalty and warmth never faltering. To know George was to love him, and his close-knit circle of friends will forever carry the memory of his teasing laughter and infectious joy. A true gentleman, George was a man of simplicity and generosity. He never sought attention for his acts of kindness, always giving to others while keeping his own desires and needs at bay. His heart was especially drawn to the underdog, and he dedicated much of his life to supporting those who needed it most. George's passions were as varied as his heart was big. He was an avid golfer, a lover of fishing, and a sailor at heart. For several summers, he lived aboard his cherished sailboat docked in Lexington, Michigan-one of his happiest places. Whether on the water or on land, George embraced life with a playful spirit, often teasing his loved ones with light-hearted pranks, always knowing how to brighten the room. An incredible cook and an aficionado of fine dining, George had an unquenchable zest for life's simple pleasures. He found joy in sharing delicious meals and making those around him feel welcome. His culinary skills will be remembered as fondly as his sense of humor. George's confidence in the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ helped him face the final days of his life here on earth with peace. He exuded a peaceful and often jovial spirit to the very end. George leaves a hole in this world that cannot be filled. His legacy of love, laughter, generosity, and faith will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. George, you were loved beyond measure, and your memory will forever shine brightly in our hearts. Beloved father of Michael Thornber and Adam Thornber. Cherished brother of John (Sally) Bonnier, Charles (Cindy) Bonnier, Nina Bonnier, and Koula (Jeff) Joyce. Uncle to multiple nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces. Brother of the late Ronald Prater, the late Maria Panagopoulos, the late Paula Ortago, and the late Cynthia Shimmell. George is also survived by his friend and former wife, Marie Burgess. Visitation: Friday, February 7, 2025 11 a.m. until the Memorial Service at 11:30 a.m. at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W. Eleven Mile Rd., Royal Oak Donations in lieu of flowers accepted for the continued care of George's sister, Nina Bonnier, by checks payable to Koula Joyce with Memo note "for Nina".
