Geraldine Williams

Geraldine Joanne was the last of eight loving children all born at home in Hamtramck, Mi to Albert and Elsa (Kliefoth) Schoof. She was predeceased by her parents, her beloved and devoted husband, Roy Williams, her siblings and their spouses: Henry (Louella) Schoof, Wilma (Gerald) Sigman, Norma Schoof, Rev. Armond (Arlette) Schoof, Glenn Schoof, Rev. Frederick (Esther) Schoof, and Carolyn (Ervin) Dober. She mourned the loss of nephews David and Daniel Schoof. She is survived by nieces and nephews: Laura (Gary) Scott, Katherine Sigman, Timothy (China Misra) Sigman, Lisa (John) Compton, Janet Waters, Jacqueline (Frank) Crnic, Katharene (the late Daniel) Schoof, Renee (Robert Erskine) Schoof, Brian Schoof, Jonathan (Barbara) Schoof, Paula Cook, Martin (Nguyet) Dober, Matthew (Eva) Dober and Linda Breiter. She leaves behind many great and great-great nieces, nephews and faithful friends. She is lovingly remembered by Ella Mae (the late Albert) Williams, her sons, nieces and nephews. Geraldine filled the room with the light of her smile and the glow of her faith and kindness. She cherished her doting family as well as her religious education beginning with a one-room-school at Detroit's Bethel Lutheran Church, Lutheran High Detroit and Concordia College, River Forest, IL. She became an accomplished pianist through instruction at Tau Beta in Hamtramck. For over 50 years she served as the organist and choir director at Calvary Lutheran Church, Murrysville, PA. She was the church's beloved Kindergarten teacher for 19 years. When the school closed, Geraldine was hired as a clerk at Westinghouse and retired as an executive secretary. Her family is grateful for the excellent memory care she received at Arden Court, Bingham Farms, MI. Geraldine's life will be celebrated on Dec. 7 at 11 am at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, Birmingham, MI in a service which will also be streamed through the Vimeo Watch Sunday Live link at lcr.church and archived.Suggested memorials to Calvary Lutheran Church, Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, Lutheran World Relief or the Alzheimer's Association.
