Grace Ross

Ross, Grace. Age 94 of Royal Oak Michigan died April 30, 2024. Beloved wife of the late Edmund Ross; loving mother of Tony (Ann) Ross, Linda Lane, David (Pam) Ross, the late Craig Ross (Richard Cash) and Tom (Ouida) Ross. Grace was the loving grandmother of John (Julia) Ross, Colleen Ross (Caitlin Whaley), Theresa Ross, Nicole (Nick) Bulloch, Robin (Shawn) Sirko, Michael Ross, Steven Ross, James Ross and Elizabeth Ross. Grace was the proud great-grandmother of Sloane Sirko, Quinn Sirko, Colton Bulloch, Brock Bulloch, Xoco Ross, Zyanya Ross and Frances Ross. Grace was born to Antonio and Maria Milicia on November 29, 1929 in Rossiter, PA. At an early age the Milicia family moved to Cleveland where Grace grew up. Grace was very close to her parents and five siblings, and is now united with them to eternal life; Frances (Joe) Giannone, Minnie (Bob) Cinadr, Joseph (Barbara) Milicia, Carmela (Pete) Randazzo and Tony Milicia. Grace leaves behind many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. Grace was active in the church from an early age and a member of the Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Grace met Ed in her early 20s and they married in 1954 at Holy Rosary Church in Cleveland, then moved to Detroit to open the Detroit office of Manpower Temporary Help Service. They resided in Berkley from 1963 to 1987 and raised the family there. Grace was devoted to caring for her mother who only spoke Italian in the family home until her passing in 1983. Once empty nesters, Grace and Ed moved to Troy until 2015, then to Royal Oak. Grace loved being a parishioner at Shrine of the Little Flower and was active in several groups there, including the Ladies Guild and the Council of Catholic Women. Grace was active as a Cub Scout Den Mother, along with the Girl Scouts for several years. Later, Grace went on to work in the Shrine High School kitchen, where she and the team enjoyed preparing delicious hot meals for the students. Grace enjoyed shopping and was always on the hunt for a bargain, usually as a gift for someone else. Most of all, Grace loved family gatherings and spending time with friends. Grace was a talented cook and was known for her famous spaghetti Sunday dinners along with other Italian dishes. Grace will be missed by her family and the friends she has had since childhood, those made at Shrine over the years and those made at The Village of Royal Oak and Waltonwood of Royal Oak. Grace made it a point to visit with her close friends and family in the Cleveland area as often as possible, and always talked about moving back there one day. A visitation for Grace will be held on Tuesday, May 14, from 2:00 to 8:00 pm with a rosary service at 6:00 pm at Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Directors, 705 W. Eleven Mile Rd. (4 blks. E. of Woodward), Royal Oak, MI 48067. Grace will lie in state on Wednesday, May 15, from 9:30 am until time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica, 2100 Twelve Mile Rd., Royal Oak, MI 48073. Grace will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield. Memorials are appreciated to the Alzheimer Association, 225 N.
