Jacob Henning

Jacob Henning, of Sterling Heights, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on February 18, 2025 at the age of 30. Jacob is the cherished son of Mark and Laurie Henning; the loving brother of Joshua Henning; the dear nephew of John Henning, David (Grace) Henning, Darlene (Dale) Darling, Kenneth Evans, Karen (fiancee Paul Yoder) Oxley, and the late Catherine (survived by Martin) LaCroix; and the beloved cousin of Sarah (Walter) Karczewski, Dale (Holly) Darling Jr., Devin Darling, Olivia Oxley, Alyssa Oxley, Steven Blackman, Kelly (Mike) Vukmirovich, , Jason Blackman, Jessica (Sean) Williams, Adam Henning, and Lydia Henning; the adored second cousin of Michael, Samantha, Hunter, Faith, Logan, Dylan, Greyson, Niko, Sam, and Jackson. He is also survived by his dear cat, Sebastian. Jacob is preceded in death by his grandparents, Howard and Dorothy Henning, and Claude and Maryann Evans. Jacob's family wants to thanks, Laura Lambert, part of the Sage family, who is Jacob's third cousin, for all of her support and help given to his family. Jacob graduated from De La Salle Collegiate High School with honors. He continued his education at Michigan State University and received a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, where he was at the top of his class. He then worked for the Environmental Resource Group (ERG) in Wixom. Jacob was health conscious. He loved to find new healthy foods to eat; and he enjoyed spending time in nature; hiking, going on long walks, and vacationing up North. He was a great cook and he was an avid gamer. Jacob also adored his Russian blue cat, Sebastian. He enjoyed the time he spent with his family, and loved to get together with his friends and cousins. Jacob's family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary service at 3:00 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road (3 blocks East of Van Dyke), Utica. A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, February 27, instate from 9:30 a.m. until the time of his mass is 10:00 a.m. at St. Anastasia Catholic Church, 4571 John R. Road, Troy.
