James W. Barnes

James Walter Barnes, "Jimmy", of Armada, Michigan, was 36 years old. He was at home when he went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 25, 2015. Jimmy was born in East Ridge, Tennessee, on October 31, 1979 to Terry D. and Gwen G. Barnes. Jimmy had one sister, Sandra A. Barnes, and one brother, Daniel A. Barnes. Jimmy lived in Ooltewah, Tn, East Detroit, Mi, Warren, Mi, Lenox Township, Mi and Armada, Mi. Jimmy was born with a rare condition called microcephaly. He went to special classes at Macomb Intermediate School District from age 2-1/2 to age 26. He participated in Special Olympics where he won several awards. Jimmy loved to go fishing or to the park and loved to swing or play outside. He also loved to watch "The Price is Right", "Wheel of Fortune" and "Jeopardy". Jimmy loved to ride in cars and go for a ride, even more so in trucks, trains and firetrucks, and even more if it was a really fast car with the top down. Jimmy loved apples and could eat a peck a day. He also loved green peppers and cooked or raw zucchini and summer squash. He also loved "chicken and cunklings", coffee with lots of cream, hot chocolate, ice cream, candy canes and chewing gum. All good food was "alicious" to him. Most of all, he loved Jesus and anything, especially music, that was "about God". Jimmy is survived by his parents, Terry and Gwen Barnes of Armada, MI., his sister, Sandra Barnes of Richmond, Mi, his brother, Daniel and Kristal Barnes of Memphis, Mi., and one nephew, Teagan Daniel Barnes. Jimmy is also survived by his grandmother, Dollie Barnes, of Clinton Township, Mi. Jimmy is also survived by Aunt Judy (Robert) Durham of Detroit, MI., Uncle Bruce Warren of Flat Lick, Ky, and Uncle Ted (Rhonda) Warren of Lenox Township, MI. Jimmy is also survived by numerous cousins and extended family. Jimmy was predeceased by grandparents, Kermit and Mildred Warren and Ralph Barnes, Aunts Phyllis Orlando and Janice Duvall and Uncles Claude Duvall, Andy Orlando and Dehnen Martin. His parents, with his family. will receive friends on Tuesday, December 1 from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Wm. Sullivan and Sons Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Rd., Utica, Mi 48317. Jimmy will lie in state at the North Auburn Hills Baptist Church, 3889 North Squirrel Road, Auburn Hills, Michigan on Wednesday December 2nd, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his Funeral Services at 11:00 a.m., with Dr. John Marine officiating. Pallbearers are Daniel Barnes, Justin Raimondo, Rual Norris, Ted, Mitchell and Zachary Warren, Michael Orlando, Ryan Hoover, Terry Norris and Tommy Strauss. Honorary pallbearers are Kolton Ryan Hoover and Teagan Daniel Barnes. Burial will be on Thursday, December 3 at 11:00 am at Willow Grove Cemetery in Richmond Township, MI Memorial contributions can be made to Jimmy's church - North Auburn Hills Baptist Church, 3889 N. Squirrel Rd., Auburn Hills, Mi 48326.
