Jill E. Klindt

Jill Elaine Klindt, age 74, of Bloomfield Hills, passed away on April 3, 2026 following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Detroit on May 3, 1951, Jill lived with a generous heart and a steady strength that made people feel safe, seen, and cared for. She had a gift for turning everyday moments into lasting memories through her warm presence, thoughtful attention, and unwavering support of family and friends. Jill was the beloved wife of William (Bill) Klindt, whom she married on May 20, 2017. She was a devoted mother to Michael Morrison (Susan) of Rochester, Meredith Jarrold (Todd) of Traverse City, and Mark Morrison (Bridget) of Hudsonville. She also dearly loved Bill's children, Carolyn Stoker (Steven), Max Klindt (Kristen), and Dana Klindt. Nothing delighted Jill more than being "Gigi" to James (10), Audrey (9), Maeve (8), David (6), Lark (5), Connor (3), Lenny (3), Carter (1) and Kit (6 mo.). She is also survived by her loving sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and extended family and friends who adored her. She was preceded in death by her first husband, David Morrison, father, James Bastin, mother, JoAnne Bastin, and brother, James Bastin. Jill was a proud graduate of Michigan State University, and she later received her master's in blind rehabilitation from Western Michigan University, a testament to her commitment to lifelong learning and helping others. She was active in the local schools while raising her children, after which time she became a beloved secretary at Derby Middle School. Prior to her retirement in 2018, she touched countless lives with her compassion, helpful nature, and steady support, becoming a trusted and familiar presence in the school community. A memorial visitation will take place on Friday, April 17, 2026 from 3 pm - 7 pm at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Directors, 705 W. Eleven Mile Road (4 blocks east of Woodward), Royal Oak. A memorial service to honor Jill's life will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 10 am at Holy Name Catholic Church in Birmingham. The family will receive friends beginning at 9 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or Haven in Jill's memory. Jill's family is grateful for the love, support, and prayers offered during this time. Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished, the friends she held close, and among those she touched by her many acts of kindness.
