Joel R. Legree II

Joel Ronald Legree II, age 33, passed away on February 3, 2018. Joel was born on April 12, 1984 to Joel and Nancy in Rochester, Michigan. Joel was the oldest of two children, with his sister joining the family in 1986. Joel went to Avondale High School in Auburn Hills, Michigan, where he excelled at baseball. Joel loved playing baseball, and he spent much time at the diamond. His hard work paid off when he was awarded as an All-State catcher twice in his career. After school, he worked as a delivery drive for M.V.P. Express, a family business, for five years. On October 8, 2009, Joel met the love of his life, Jana Williamson, through some mutual friends. There was an instant connection and the two immediately hit it off. Almost a year later, on October 1, 2010, the two were blessed with a daughter, Isabella Rose. Isabella quickly became Joel's world. On October 10, 2012, Joel and Jana made their love for one another eternal, and were married. Joel's family meant everything to him. He was a loving husband and a devoted father. He loved fishing, where he would fish in any lake, pond or stream. He enjoyed fishing so much that he showed Bella how to fish as well; a way to spend more time with his daughter. He also taught Bella how to ride a bicycle. Joel also enjoyed hunting near Gladwin, Michigan. One thing Joel had an immense passion for was watching the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was a part of Steelers Nation, and you could count on him to watch every game they played. Joel is survived by his cherished wife of five years, Jana; his loving daughter, Isabella Rose; his dear father Joel; his beloved sister Amanda (Chad) Chisholm; his loving niece Grace "Baby G." Chisholm; his beloved grandparents Ronald (Joan) Szymanski; his dear aunts and uncles Mary (Chop) Sims, Rhonda (John) Jenkins, Earl (Jayna) Legree, Susan (Amiel) Villani, and Brady Legree; and many cousins, family and friends. Joel is preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Legree, his grandparents Earl (Shirley) Legree, and his great-grandmother Josephine Steele. Joel's family will receive friends on Thursday, February 8, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Wm.
