Joseph Simoncini, a beloved husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather, and adored great-grandfather, passed away on May 22, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love and a lifetime of treasured memories. Born on February 2, 1935, to George and Assunta Simone, Joseph lived a fulfilling life dedicated to his family, his work, and his passions. Joseph was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Carole, with whom he shared many joyful years of companionship and unwavering support. Together, they created a home filled with love, warmth, and lasting memories. Joseph's commitment to his family extended beyond his role as a husband, as he lovingly embraced his role as a father to his two daughters, Joette (Mario) DiNello and Wendy (Ronald) Zientak. As a proud grandfather, Joseph found great joy in the presence of his grandchildren. Mario (Candace), Achille (Dianna), Michael (Cali), and Daniel (Stephani) were the recipients of his love, guidance, and endless pride. His love multiplied with the arrival of his great-grandchildren, bringing him immeasurable happiness. Professionally, Joseph excelled as an operating engineer for local 324 for an impressive 60 years. He approached his work with dedication and skill, leaving a lasting impact on those he worked with and the projects he undertook. His commitment to his craft was evident in every task he completed, earning him the respect and admiration of his colleagues. Beyond his professional endeavors, Joseph possessed a zest for life and a love for the simple pleasures it offered. He found solace and joy on the open waters, as boating was one of his favorite pastimes. The tranquility of the northern regions beckoned to him, and he cherished the moments spent there, surrounded by nature's beauty. His passion for automobiles led him to spend countless hours working on cars, relishing in the satisfaction of bringing them back to life. Joseph had a knack for tinkering and collecting things, always finding value in the treasures he discovered. Above all, Joseph valued the time he spent with his family and friends. Their laughter and love filled his heart, and he made it a priority to create lasting memories with them. He had a special fondness for animals, with his cat Pepper holding a special place in his heart. Joseph Simoncini will be remembered for his kindness, his unwavering love, and his zest for life. His legacy lives on through his family and friends, who will forever hold him in their hearts. Joseph is survived by his beloved wife, Carole; his daughters, Joette (Mario) DiNello and Wendy (Ronald) Zientak; his grandchildren, Mario (Candace), Achille (Dianna), Michael (Cali), and Daniel (Stephani); his 6 great-grandchildren; and his cherished cat, Pepper. May his soul find eternal peace and may his memory bring comfort and solace to all who were fortunate to have known him. A visitation will take place on Thursday (May 25th) from 2pm - 8pm at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home 8459 Hall Rd (3Blks. E. of Van Dyke) Utica. Funeral Mass will take place on Friday (May 26th) at St. Lawrence Catholic Church 44633 Utica Rd., Utica.
