Juana Price

Juana Faye Wagnon Hipkins Price was born October 19, 1932 in Erick, Oklahoma to Frances LaFayette Wagnon and Edna Lorene Cook Wagnon. She departed this world on January 4, 2026. Juana grew up with three brothers, Marion Carroll, John Albert, and Jimmy Lee Wagnon who preceded her in death. Juana Faye was married to LeRoy Hipkins on August 23, 1953 and they were married for 33 years before LeRoy passed. Both were dedicated educators. They were blessed with four daughters: Elonda Rene, Belinda Monet, Michele Lene, and Simone Yvette; sons-in-law Rodrick Cameron, Kleve Slouber, Carlan Dodson, Brad Secrest, and Michael Thomas. She was preceded in death by her daughter Belinda and sons-in-law Rodrick Cameron, Brad Secrest, and Michael Thomas. She is survived by the following grandchildren: Daniel Maurice Cameron, Micah LeRoy Cameron, Chloe Lene Dodson Flores (husband Thomas), Michaela Rose Dodson; Molly Monet Thomas Voutsos (husband Gregory), Madeline Mae Thomas Bianchi (husband Nolan), and Maxwell Michael Thomas; and great grandsons Kyle Andrew Dunne Cameron (Daniel), and Victor Michael Voutsos (Molly & Gregory). Juana graduated from High School in Tipton, Oklahoma in 1950 and received her Bachelor's degree in Speech and English at Southwestern State College in 1954. She taught school for many years and retired in 2000. A lifelong educator at heart, Juana's love of teaching extended far beyond the classroom. Whether through Scripture, books, or everyday conversations, she believed in the power of knowledge. Juana was a member of the Cherry Hill Church of Christ in Joliet, IL and was a devoted Bible scholar and teacher of the Word. In 1991, Juana was married to Dewey Eugene Price who preceded her in death. She inherited many stepchildren, step-grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her stepchildren include Mike Price, Debbie Cannon Saban, Jerry Price, Terry Price, David Price, Scott Price and their spouses and children. Juana is survived by numerous nieces and nephews (Carol Schuster, Rhonda Dimperio, Lisa Johnson, Jennifer Harramon, Robert Wagnon, Lili Pierrepont, Mary Shriver and their spouses and children) and a plethora of devoted friends. Affectionately known to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as "Gammie", Juana was a steady and loving presence. She was wise, faithful, and deeply committed to her family. She was known for her love of Scripture, thoughtful counsel, and the quiet strength with which she lived her life. Time spent with Gammie was filled with learning, conversation, and the assurance of being deeply loved. In lieu of flowers, Juana's family requests that donations be made to a nonprofit or foundation of the donor's choice that supports education. Scriptures Juana loved and lived by are shared below. These scriptures reflect the way Juana lived, grounded in faith, gentle in spirit, and confident in the promises of God. Poem Juana Loved: If Tomorrow Starts Without Me (David Romano) If tomorrow starts without me, and I'm not there to see, If the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me; I wish so much you wouldn't cry the way you did today, while thinking of the many things we didn't get to say. I know how much you care for me, and how much I care for you, and each time that you think of me I know you'll miss me too; But when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand, that an angel came and called my name and took me by the hand, and said my place was ready in heaven far above, and that I'd have to leave behind all those I dearly love.
