Judy Go Bryan

Judy Go Bryan, a longtime resident of Royal Oak, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at the age of 78. A daughter of Chuy Tian Lim and Gui Ngo, she was born on January 24, 1947, in the Philippines. Judy attended Cebu Eastern College and earned her bachelor's degree from the University of San Carlos. She spent 20 years working as an accountant for Young Auto Supply in the Philippines before marrying and moving to the United States. After arriving in Michigan, she briefly worked as a bank teller before she and her husband, Dick, retired to pursue mission work. Together, they taught English at universities in China and remained in touch with many of their former students over the years. Their mission journey led them to adopt their daughter, Lynn, whom they raised in a home full of love and faith. Judy adapted to American life with grace and joy, cherishing time with her new family and helping to create lasting holiday traditions. She was deeply devoted to her faith and was an active member of the Royal Oak United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir, volunteered regularly, and was part of the Shawl Ministry, knitting prayer shawls for those in need. An avid reader with a deep knowledge of the Bible, Judy shared her quiet wisdom and kind heart with those around her. She loved gardening, crocheting, knitting, and spending time with friends-especially over dinner, often reminiscing about her younger days and celebrations in the Philippines. Judy and her husband were inseparable, and their life together was rooted in love, faith, and family. Beloved wife of the late Richard Jesse Bryan. Loving mother of Lynn (Varun Mark) DaCosta. Cherished grandmother of Daphne Rose DaCosta. Also survived by her siblings: twin sister Hedy, brothers Alonso, Rom, Johnny, Leo and Allan. Her brother Manual predeceased her. Judy will be dearly missed by her friends, and her church community.
