Larry E. Vranesich

Larry Evan Vranesich Vranesich, Larry Evan, age 59, of Royal Oak, passed away December 1, 2024. Larry was born September 1, 1965 to Hazel (Sperling) and the late Frank (Larry) Vranesich in Joliet, Illinois. Larry loved animals and cared for many pets throughout his life. He was an avid fisherman, telling great stories about the ones that got away and even better stories about the ones he caught. Larry also loved cooking and gardening, and enjoyed sharing the fruits of his labor. He volunteered weekly with Youth for Christ's high school and junior high campus life clubs, leading games, teaching lessons, and helping in many other ways including cooking and teaching the kids how to fish. He loved volunteering and was open about mistakes he had made in his life. He tried to give the kids lessons from life on how to make wise, godly choices. He was involved weekly at a men's morning Bible study and an evening Bible study where he was thrilled to bring his mom with him. He enjoyed the insights he was learning from studying the Bible. He was a loyal friend and had a servant's heart. He had a gift of encouragement and never met a stranger. He always reached out to others with sincere caring and friendship. Some of his fondest memories were of spending time with his grandparents on their South Dakota farm. There he learned to love the outdoors, including pheasant hunting with his friends Sam and Pete. In addition to his mother Hazel, Larry is survived by siblings Mary Vranesic, Joy (David Brown) Martin, Cynthia (David) Maurice, and Glenn (Amy) Vranesich, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Larry was predeceased by his stepson Ray Reeder, as well as his father Frank. Services will be held Thursday, December 5, at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W. Eleven Mile Road (four blocks east of Woodward) in Royal Oak. Visitation will be held from 10:30am, until the time of the funeral service, at 11:30 am.
