Laura Lee Deichelbor

On April 24, 2025 Laura Lee Deichelbor passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family. "Laurie's" memory will live on through her dear son Justin Matthew Deichelbor who was deeply cherished by her and the most special blessing in her life. Born on November 27, 1955 to Mary Frances and Harold Lawrence Deichelbor of Utica Michigan, Laurie was the fourth of six children. Laurie enjoyed what was then, a rural simple upbringing in Utica and attended St.Lawerence Catholic school along with her siblings. It was there she excelled in her schoolwork and in her athletic abilities, playing both basketball and softball. Later in life she shared in the joy of the game of softball with her beloved mother, when they played on a women's league together. Another shared passion with her mother was that of the great outdoors. This passion would be life-long and lead to many adventures with her son, her mother, her siblings and her nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved and held dear. Her compassion for people directed Laurie to become a medical assistant and later a phlebotomist, a career which she found both enjoyable and fulfilling. Laurie will be deeply missed and remembered lovingly by her siblings Richard H. (Fritzi) Deichelbor, Mary Rose (Albert) Harris, Joette E. (Bobby) Pearson, Robert L. (Sandy) Deichelbor and Janet L. (Joseph) Nahas and her many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She will leave an unfillable void in the heart of her Partner in Life, Jon Echeandia with whom she shared many years of love and support. She is preceded in death by her parents Mary F. and Harold L. Deichelbor, her niece Jennifer Lynn Deichelbor, her brother-in-law Albert Harris and her sisters-in-law Fritzi Deichelbor and Sandy Deichelbor; all with whom she shared many happy memories. Although many things brought Laurie joy in her life, by far it was her son Justin with whom she shared a special bond that would define one of her greatest accomplishments and her greatest sense of pride. A Funeral mass will be held for Laurie at 10am on Friday June 6, 2025 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church located at 44633 Utica Road, Utica, Michigan 48317. She will be laid to rest at St.Lawrence cemetery.
