Leonard Earl Jarvis

Leonard Earl Jarvis, of Oxford, passed away on January 31, 2021 at the age of 83. Leonard is the cherished husband of the late Monica Jarvis (nee Shemko); the former husband of Patricia Jarvis (nee Alban); the loving father of Robert Jarvis, Scott (Sandra) Jarvis, and Amy (Maurico) Cota; the adored grandfather of 9; the dear brother of Howard Jarvis; Mary Lou (Finn)Coluzzi, and the late Edward Jarvis; Leonard's nephew and caregiver Tom (Lynn) Kennis; and fondly remembered by many other nieces, nephews, and cousins. During high school, Leonard worked at his grandfather's White Mice Farm. The mice were then sold for research. He also was in the R.O.T.C. Leonard was a graduate of Warren High School. After school, Leonard spent time serving his country in the Army National Guard. Fueled by his enjoyment of cars, Leonard was employed through General Motors, where he became a lifelong employee. Leonard was also a longtime St. Lawrence Knights of Columbus member. In addition to cars, Leonard enjoyed spending time on the water where he loved boating and fishing. When he wasn't on the water, he could be found bowling. Leonard's family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m with a rosary service at 6 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road, Utica. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 44633 Utica Rd, Utica, instate from 9:30 a.m. until the time of his mass at 10 a.m. **Masks are required to be worn at the funeral home and church at all times. Due to precautionary measures, Leonard's casket will be closed during the services at the church. If you would like to see and pay your respects to him, his casket will be open only at the funeral home.
