Leslie Joyce Pielack

Leslie Joyce Pielack, 78, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was born in Detroit in 1944. She graduated from Royal Oak High School and married her husband Dennis in 1962. Together they were married 60 years and lived throughout Michigan with their two children; Angela and Joseph. Leslie worked as a beautician and as an industrial seamstress for Ford Motor Company. She lived her retirement years in Utica, Michigan surrounded by family. Leslie was a dedicated servant of the Lord, her husband, and her family. She was simultaneously selfless in her gift of time and love, though stubborn in her beliefs when she felt them deeply. Leslie was a generous, beautiful, and loving woman who you could always come to for an encouraging word. Whether it was a major life event or something as small as a splinter, she was the all-time greatest and most sincere dispatcher of empathy with an unceasing supply to give. Her college care packages to her grandchildren of honey, lemon, tea, and of course whiskey shots, are almost as legendary as she was to all of us. Leslie was the glue of any family gathering and was always looking for the next one to emerge. Her sense of humor would light up the room and bring joy to everyone around. Kind and supportive, she spent her last days comforting and encouraging her family to be strong in her transition; emblematic of the loving person she was famous for being. Leslie was present for every event from singing, plays, dance, soccer, hockey, choir, golf, graduations, and more. She was unwilling to miss a moment; making everything the better for it. A loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will always be missed and never be forgotten. Leslie leaves a legacy of fun noises, faces, and personality traits mimicked unconsciously and lovingly making us all more like her than we know and yet ever grateful to be. Leslie was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary. She leaves behind her husband Dennis, brother Ron (Jill), beloved children Angela (Rob) and Joseph (Elyse). Leslie was devoted and ever-present to her ten grandchildren: Kristina (Brad), Jenny, Kathryn (Adam), Amy, Richard (Alissa), Karilynn (Hunter), Faith, Grace, Joy, and Joseph. Her six great-grandchildren Alexia, Zoey, Noah, Lillian, Noelle, and Annabelle were the joy of her life. Visitation will be Thursday, June 29th from 12 noon to 8pm and her Funeral Service will commence on Friday, June 30th 11am with a short viewing prior to the service at 10am at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road, Utica.
