Lloyd T. Dutcheshen

Dutcheshen, Lloyd T. Age 80, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2026. Born on October 26, 1945, to Lloyd and Virginia Dutcheshen, Lloyd lived a life centered on family, friendship, and the things he loved most. He shared 57 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Diana. Loving father of Kelley (Michael) Samberg, Nick (Jennifer), and Alex(Laura). Proud and devoted grandfather of Nicholas Samberg, Claire Samberg, William Samberg, Margaret Tabet, Elaena, Graham, Quinn, James, Henry, and Liam. Dear brother of Christine (Ralph) Pasola, Robert(late Kim), Joseph (Danielle), and the late John. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Lloyd was a self-taught fisherman whose greatest joy was spending time on the streams and rivers of Michigan, especially the Pere Marquette. Fishing was more than a hobby, it was a lifelong passion that he eagerly passed down to his children and later to his grandchildren, teaching them the art of patience while appreciating the sights and sounds of nature. A lifelong Georgia Bulldogs fan, Lloyd proudly graduated from the University of Georgia and remained a loyal Dawg throughout his life, often dressing from head to toe in red and black on every fall Saturday. Like the branches of a stream, Lloyd had many hobbies and passions, including traveling the world with his soulmate Diana, creating beautiful wood carvings, and golfing with his family and friends who cherished him endlessly. His most profound passion was his nine grandchildren and his unique relationships with each of them. Lloyd's enduring legacy lives on through the lives he nurtured, as he devoted himself to mentoring, encouraging, and inspiring them with love and wisdom throughout their lives. Lloyd has made his final cast, where the river runs clear, the fish are rising, and his love flows on in our hearts forever. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, July 24, at Holy Name Catholic Church, 630 Harmon, Birmingham.
