Luigi Mini

Luigi, age 68, a longtime resident of Ray Township, previously of Warren MI, passed Monday, June 1, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. Luigi, often affectionately known as Lou, or Louie, was born May 20, 1949 in The Republic of San Marino to Carolina and Gino Mini. At the age of 8, Luigi immigrated to the US and became a U.S. Citizen He graduated from Warren Cousino High School. After graduating, Luigi had several occupations but eventually became a mason like his father Gino. He was a hard worker and masterful with his masonry design. He was the king of his domain. He was self-employed and driven. In his free time Luigi enjoyed dabbling in the stock market, salt water fish aquariums, and flying Radio controlled airplanes. He was a masterful mechanic. You could always find Luigi working in his pole barn and he could fix nearly anything. If Luigi couldn't fix it he was sure to keep spare parts in case he could repurpose them and bring something else back to working order. He was always willing to help a friend and lend a hand. Luigi was also a motorcycle enthusiast. He wore many hats and was a jack of all trades. Luigi was even a pretty good cook. He will be missed by many and not forgotten. Luigi is survived by his loving daughter, Maria (Chuck) Oliver. His beloved mother Carolina Mini (nee Paloetti). His dear siblings, Maria Leda (Russ) Humphrey and Steve (Janette "Jay") Mini. Uncle of Kellie (Jim) Wiegand and Brian Humphrey. Great nieces and nephews, Gino, Marco and Stefano Mini; And Keira Lina Wiegand. Luigi also leaves behind many other loving family members and friends. Preceded in death by his father Gino in 1981. Luigi's family will receive friends Friday, June 5, 2015 from 3:00 until 8:00 PM at the Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road (3 Blocks East of Van Dyke) Utica, Michigan 48317. Rosary Friday 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Procession to Resurrection Cemetery for prayers will follow.
