Mark David Stover

Stover, Mark D., age 51, resident of Royal Oak, passed away on June 24, 2017. Mark was born on March 26, 1966 in Port Huron to the late Frank and Gloria Stover. He graduated from Port Huron High School and entered the working world. Mark eventually moved to Royal Oak and following 20 years of service with ATandT he changed gears and began work as a self-employed artist and partnered to start Sharp Star Studio, leading to a number of notable projects in the local community. Mark enjoyed residing in Royal Oak. It aligned with his creative inclinations and impeccable sense of style. Mark's home was filled with unique art, from the Art Deco and Modern eras, but only he had the keen ability to bring all of it together seamlessly. Mark always did everything BIG. Throughout his life, Mark pushed the boundaries of fashion and style. In his youth, he was considered one of the best dressed and fashion forward people you would meet. Mark's boundaryless attitude carried on to his house, the cars he drove, his attitude towards life and in everything else he touched. Mark also had a love for animals, particularly his trusted and loyal Great Dane companion, Lincoln. Some might say Mark was always there for others, be it for a consult about life decisions or just a lively comment or two to shake up a conversation. Mark pushed you to see things in a different light or from a different angle and for that and many other reasons he will be deeply missed by those he touched with his presence. Loving brother of Jodi (Stephen) MacLean, Shawn (Melissa), and the late Frank (Tricia, surviving); Mark is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Gloria and step-father Reuben Clarke; a dear uncle to Dylan, Kendra (Justin) Smith, Kevin, Lizzie, Frank Jr., Jake, and Ava. Visitation Thursday, June 29, from 3-8 pm with a time for sharing stories at 7:30 pm at the Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Road (4 blocks E of Woodward), Royal Oak. Burial committal service will be on Friday, June 30, at 11 am at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Port Huron.
