Maryhelen Anne McLean

Maryhelen Anne (Sebolka) McLean b. August 18, 1943 (Dallas, PA) - d. May 31, 2025 (Lake Orion, MI) The World lost a good one. Maryhelen Anne (Sebolka) McLean left us too soon after fighting her second bout with cancer over several years. She is survived by the love of her life, Daniel McLean, her children Kelly McLean, Derek (Jill) Jamieson, and Keith (Maureen) McLean, her grandchildren Parker Jamieson, Carter Jamieson, Daniel McLean, and Michael McLean, and her sisters Monica Perkins and Julie McQuillan. Maryhelen was ushered into her next life with the help and comfort of her beloved daughters-in-law, Jill Jamieson NP and Maureen McLean RN, who selflessly spent months keeping Maryhelen informed and comfortable while she relentlessly fought cancer. Greeting her when she arrives in Heaven are all the Angels and Saints and her beloved parents Anna (Breza) Sebolka and Andrew Sebolka, siblings Andrew "Brot" Sebolka, Andrea Dawson, Geraldine Hurley, and Eugene Sebolka, and countless friends. Maryhelen loved the theatre, dancing, traveling, her faith, visiting with family and friends, and "The Wheel" as she affectionally called it. As another example of her relentlessness, while raising 3 kids and working full-time, Maryhelen managed to graduate with an associate degree from Oakland Community College with honors. As a resident of the Auto Capital of the World, Maryhelen spent 30 years working for General Motors, her one and only employer, as a financial analyst. In her later years, Maryhelen devoted her time volunteering for the Oakland Meals on Wheels. Her friends and family will unanimously tell anyone who listens that she selflessly cared for all others before herself even when faced with terminal cancer and she saw good in everyone. We are all eternally grateful and blessed to have you as our wife, mother, grandmother, sibling, and friend. We love you to the moon and back, Maryhelen. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. A Memorial Visitation will take place on Sunday, June 8, from 3:00 to 8:00 pm at Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Directors, 705 W. Eleven Mile Rd. (4 blks. E. of Woodward), Royal Oak, MI 48067. Family and friends will gather on Monday, June 9, from 9:30 am until time of Memorial Mass at 10:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 730 South Lafayette Avenue, Royal Oak, MI 48067.
