Michelle F. Degeer

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michelle Degeer, who left this world on October 10, 2025, at the age of 53. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, warmth, and unwavering devotion to her family, animals, and the natural world. She is survived by her devoted husband Scott Degeer, her cherished daughters Megan (Matt) Degeer and Abbey Degeer, her dear parents Dan and Terri Tandeski, and her caring in-laws Randy and Shirley Degeer. She also leaves behind her loving sister Debbie (Jon) Manjo, nephew Jon Manjo, and niece Ava Manjo, who all held a special place in her heart. Michelle had a heart that was open to everyone; people, animals, and everything in between. She was known to many as the one who couldn't drive past an animal in need without stopping to help. Whether it was a stray dog on the side of the road or an injured bird in the yard, Michelle always made room in her life (and often her home) for those who needed love and care. Nature was her refuge and inspiration. She found peace among trees, joy in flowers, and beauty in the quiet moments of the outdoors. Her love for the outdoors wasn't just a passion, it was part of who she was. Michelle also had an incredible eye for design. Her home reflected her personality: warm, inviting, and full of thoughtful detail. Friends and family often marveled at her gift for decorating, not just because of how beautiful her spaces were, but because of how welcomed you felt the moment you walked through her door. She created a home that was truly a haven for others. Above all, Michelle will be remembered for her loving heart; generous, kind, and endlessly giving. She led with empathy, offered support without hesitation, and made people feel seen and valued. Her presence brought comfort, and her absence will be deeply felt. Though she is no longer with us in body, Michelle's spirit lives on in every life she touched; in every rescued animal, every sunset admired, every room filled with laughter, light, and beautiful decor. A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 2-8pm at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Rd. (3blks E. of Van Dyke) in Utica. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home the following day, Friday, October 17, 2025, with visitation at 10am until the time of the service at 11am. A burial at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township will take place immediately following the service.
