Patricia Campbell

Patricia Ann Campbell, a resident of Royal Oak, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at the age of 82. A daughter of Lois Hamilton and Granville Ackerman, she was born on September 23, 1940 in Detroit. At age 16, Pat locked eyes with Donald Campbell at the Clawson Roller Rink. For both of them, it was love at first sight. "I'm going to marry that man," Pat admitted to a girlfriend. As she left the rink that night, Don called out, "what's your phone number?" Pat hesitated, but her grandmother encouraged the match. Pat replied, "Midwest 47063!" The two exchanged vows on June 10, 1961 at First Baptist Church in Royal Oak. Pat and Don shared a love story written over 66 years. Pat loved each of her children uniquely and with her whole heart. She felt that raising her children was the greatest gift in life. Pat adored her husband, Don. She found joy in flowers, birds, and dancing. Pat even twirled across TV screens with the Detroit Bandstand in her youth. An eclectic woman, Pat was both artistic and creative. She was generous in empathy and compassion for others. Those blessed to know Pat would describe her as one-of-a-kind with an everlasting spark. She will be dearly missed. Beloved wife of Donald S. Campbell. Loving mother of Mark James Campbell (Staci), Thomas Stuart Campbell (Cindy), Linda Campbell Nagel (Edward Paul Nagel III), David Norman Campbell, John William Campbell (Michelle Renee), Sandra Campbell Orsucci (Robert Kennedy Orsucci), Rebecca Campbell Bonner (Peter Michael Bonner), and Scott Donald Campbell. Cherished grandmother of Zachary Campbell (Nicole), Noah Campbell, Mackenzie Nancarrow (Taylor), Gabriella Campbell, Taylor Campbell, Edward Paul Nagel IV, Donald Stuart Campbell Nagel, Stephanie Nagel, Leah Nagel, Rylie Campbell, Jackson Campbell, Isabella Campbell Orsucci, Olivia Campbell Orsucci, Patrick Bonner, Lilla Bonner, and Sean Bonner. Treasured great-grandmother of Grayson Campbell, Marston Campbell, and Emmitt Nancarrow. Dear sister of Betty Hackett (the late Jim). Doting mother to Fifi the Maltese dog. A visitation for Pat will be held on Wednesday, October 5, from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Directors, 705 W. Eleven Mile Rd. (4 blks. E. of Woodward), Royal Oak, 48067. A funeral service for Pat will be held on Thursday, October 6, at 11:00 am at First Presbyterian Church, 529 Hendrie Blvd., Royal Oak, 48067. Pat will be laid to rest at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy.
