Patricia Hatfield

Patricia G. Hatfield, age 63, was called home to the Lord on April 18, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on June 16, 1961, in Detroit, Patricia-affectionately known as Patty-was the cherished daughter of Habib George Qashat and Wanda Lee Shelby Qashat. With a kind and compassionate heart, Patty pursued a calling in nursing, earning her Bachelor's degree from Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee. She dedicated her career to caring for others as a registered nurse, most recently on the cardiac unit at St. Joseph Hospital in Pontiac, until her retirement in 2019. Her natural empathy and gentle spirit touched countless lives throughout her years of service. Patty spent part of her early life in Corbin, Kentucky, before settling in Royal Oak in 2000, where she built a loving home filled with warmth, laughter, and music. A true classic rock enthusiast, Patty was never happier than when attending a concert or strumming her guitar. Her love of music was woven into the fabric of her life, a soundtrack to her vibrant, generous soul. Patty found great joy in the simple pleasures-crocheting, cooking, and gathering with loved ones. She had a gift for making people feel at home; her kitchen always smelled of something delicious, and her doors were always open. Whether for a family celebration or a spontaneous visit, everyone was welcome in Patty's home. She loved to feed the people she loved, and her food was an extension of her nurturing heart. She was the beloved mother of Jamie (the late Joshua) Mendoza, Jeremy Hatfield, and the late Jessica Hatfield, whom she now joins in eternal peace. A proud and devoted grandmother, she leaves behind a legacy of love in Michael Shook, Jasmine St. Amand, Jada Woodruff, and Jacob Woodruff. She is also survived by her loving siblings Linda (Rich) Hendricks and Steven (Becky) Qashat, and was preceded in death by her dear sister Susan Qashat. Though her physical presence will be deeply missed, Patty's warm spirit, kind heart, and the music of her laughter will echo in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Memorial visitation for Patty will be held on Sunday, August 10, from 1 p.m. until time of service, 2 p.m., at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Directors, 705 W. Eleven Mile Rd.
