Patricia J. King

Patricia Jane King, age 77, of Pleasant Ridge, passed away on March 8, 2025. Patricia was born in Toronto, Canada on February 26, 1948 to Christopher and Jane Higgins. She spent her childhood in Toronto before moving to Warren, Michigan, with her family during her high school years. In, 1966, Patricia graduated from Warren Senior High School and went on to build a beautiful life filled with love, joy, and meaningful connections. Patricia met her future husband, James, in a rather serendipitous way-through a blind date set up for another couple. But their chance meeting was the start of a lifelong love story that soon led to their wedding on January 6, 1973. As a devoted and caring homemaker in the years that followed, Patricia took immense pride in her family, always nurturing and supporting her loved ones. An avid reader, Patricia found joy in the world of books and loved to immerse herself in new stories. She also had a passion for cooking and delighted in preparing delicious meals for those she loved, bringing comfort and warmth through her culinary skills. Her love for British crime dramas and mysteries kept her captivated for hours, and she could often be found solving puzzles and playing word games to challenge her mind. Patricia was also a lover of arts and crafts, frequently engaging in creative activities that allowed her to express herself. Later in life, she developed a love for travel, with her most recent big trip being to Hawaii, where she experienced the beauty of the islands. A courageous breast cancer survivor, Patricia faced life's challenges with strength, grace, and an unwavering spirit. She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Patricia will be remembered as the loving mother of Stephen (Paul Fiedor) King, Matthew (Marissa) King, and Bradley King. Proud grandmother of Joanna King and Scarlett King. Dear sister of Cathy Schaefer, Rose Higgins, and Cecilia Higgins. Patricia was predeceased by her husband, James King, and her siblings, Jerry Higgins and Joan Niemer. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 13, from 4 - 7 p.m. at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Directors, 705 W. Eleven Mile Rd. (four blocks east of Woodward), Royal Oak. A Funeral Mass for Patricia will be held on Friday, March 14, at 10 a.m. (9:30 visitation) at St. Mary Catholic Church, 730 S. Lafayette Ave., Royal Oak.
