Paul Rochon

Paul Rochon of St. Clair Shores, passed away unexpectedly on May 19, 2024 at the age of 57. Paul is the cherished husband of Jen; the adored father of Dillon (Leanne Podbielski), Evan (Rylee Reed), and Lauren; the beloved brother of Jeri (Jim) Burger, Michelle (Greg) Thomas, Mary (Larry) Zimbler, and Rob (Bonnie) Rochon; the dear uncle of Chris (Lauren) Burger, Dan (Liz) Zimbler, Ryan (Stephanie) Thomas, Kevin (Tiffany) Thomas, Patrick Thomas, Alyson (Evan Gross) Zimbler, Matt (Lizzie Mansoor) Thomas, Mary Jane (Scott Linington) Rochon, Sara (Logan Smith) Rochon, Anna (Kyle Hauer) Rochon, Sean (Ryley Splitt) Carr, Colleen Carr, Jack Carr, and Colin Carr; the loving great-uncle of Ian Thomas, Lily Thomas, Sophia Burger, and Lilianna Burger. Paul was born on July 21, 1966 in Detroit, Michigan to Jerry and Mary Jane Rochon. He graduated in 1984 from Bishop Gallagher High School in Harper Woods, Michigan. In 1995, he met the love of his life, Jenny Carr while working together at RE/MAX at the Points. They wed on March 2, 1997. Later in 1997, they welcomed their first child, Dillon. Dillon was soon joined by his siblings, Evan, in 2002, and Lauren, in 2005. Paul was a dedicated coach who influenced many. He was a board member of Grosse Pointe Wood Shores Little League for 20 years. He coached for 3 decades; Grosse Pointe Woods Shores Little League, St. Issac Jogues coaching football, St. Germaine's coaching basketball, baseball, soccer, Lakeview High School coaching football, Little Caesar's coaching baseball, and Grosse Pointe Aveneger's coaching baseball. Paul was an avid hunter, sailor and history buff, and he was very passionate about politics. He thoroughly enjoyed the connections and friendships he made over his life. He relished those friendships, some forming when he was a child. Most of all, Paul loved his family, cherishing his wife and adoring his children. He will be greatly missed. Paul's family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 from 2:00 p.m until 9:00 p.m. with a sharing of memories service at 7:00 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road (3 blocks East of Van Dyke), Utica. The family encourages everyone who attends to please bring a story or memory to share.
