Qefser Sala

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Qefser Sala on Sunday, July 27, 2025. Born on December 23, 1923 she passed away at home surrounded by her loving family and grandchildren. Qefser lived a long, meaningful, and beautiful life. In her 40s, she endured the heartbreaking loss of her husband and was left to raise five young children on her own. Through strength, grace, and unwavering love, she not only raised her children but nurtured many grand- and great-grandchildren as well. She was cherished by all who knew her and deeply respected by so many across Europe, US and Australia. Just recently, she suffered the loss of her daughter, Dhurata, and in her final days, she found comfort in the thought of reuniting with her, her husband, and other loved ones in heaven. As we say goodbye to our dear "Nëna," we hold tightly the countless memories we've shared with her. She was the pillar of our family. Her love, resilience, and values have left an indelible mark on all of us, and her spirit and legacy will live on in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a strong woman of integrity and never wanted her family to mourn her. In her last days, she asked that we all wear something red to her funeral to celebrate her life. She is the loving mother of Bashkim (Valdet), Agron (Ana), Ismail (Valentina), Lida (Valter), the late Edmont and the late Dhurata (survived by Kastriot); the cherished grandmother of Evis, Anri, Andreas, Marina, Ervin, Marsel, Ilva, Juli, Aldo, and Fabien; and the adored great-grandmother of Pier, Andia, Dea, Dean, Henri, Mira, and William. We love you Nëna, it is hard imaging life without you now, but we will always remember your sweet care for all of us. Your place in our hearts can never be replaced. May you rest in eternal peace. Visitation for Qefser will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road (3 blocks East of Van Dyke), Utica.
