Raymond "Ray" P. Pini Sr.

Pini Raymond "RAY" P.Sr., passed away peacefully at home in Shelby Township, Michigan March 1, 2018. Beloved husband and best friend of Genevieve (Bolas), they were married August 23,1958 ,St. Lawrence Catholic Church,Utica,Michigan. Proud and Loving Father of Gina (Peirre) Savoie, Raymond P. Jr. and Jeffrey ( Shannon ) . Proud grandfather of Haley and Kelsey Savoie, Jenna, Ryan, Jeffrey Jr., and Kyleigh. .His late parents Gene G. and Jennie V. Pini were gifted with the birth of their son Ray born on March 3, 1937. Joining his two surviving brothers Ronald G.(Diane) and Robert L.(Deborah) Pini. Ray was a genuine family man as well as a community and business leader. He co-owned and operated the family business Utica Distributors, Utica ,Mi in the wholesale of garden equipment. He was a member of the Utica Kiwanis Club and a loyal member since 1958 serving as a Sheriff for many years, incentivizing many Kiwanians to make larger donations and receiving larger fines. Ray with his great friend the late Bill Hoehn had the dream to start a new Kiwanis Club in the community that would focus on seniors as their members and in April 2015, unfortunately after Bill's death, the Kiwanis Club of Shelby Golden K was chartered in Bill's honor and Ray served as the First Club President. Ray was recognized throughout the community for his contagious laughter, generosity, kindness and commitment in helping many different philantrophic needs. He was member of the Sterling Heights Chamber of Commerce and recognized for his dedication and humble commitment to our community in 1985 by Man of the Year in Shelby Township. Ray was always encouraging his daughter and sons to keep loving their families with ethics,respect and moral values, including his partnership with his son Ray in the hot air balloon business and became known as "Captain Cutty' and also helping his son at his restaurant in Shelby Township. Family will receive friends at Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road,(3 blocks East of Van Dyke on the north side of M-59), Utica, Michigan on Tuesday March 6th , 2018.from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday March 7,2018 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. In State at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 54045 Schoenherr Road (North of 24 Mile Road), Shelby Township, Mi at 9:30 a.m. Thursday March 8th 2018 until time of his Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Memorial Contributions appreciated to the Kiwanis Club of Shelby Golden K.
