Richard L. Seefeldt

Richard L. Seefeldt, of Sterling Heights, Michigan, passed away on July 25, 2024 at the age of 84. Richard was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on June 3, 1940 to Laurence and Velma Seefeldt. In 1962, Richard married the love of his life, Joyce Habersetzer. In 1959, at the age of 18, he started working on the line at American Motors. He continued in the automotive industry until his retirement at the age of 65. He was offered a job with Chrysler's and he moved his family to Michigan. He retired as an office supervisor with many working under his guidance. While in Wisconsin, he was active in the Masonic Lodge where he became Master of the James A. Garfield Masonic Lodge #106, 32nd degree Mason, active in the Scottish Rite, and a Shriner. He was also recognized for his service as a mentor to the youth in the Milwaukee Chapter DeMolay. Richard was an accomplished woodworker, making clocks, cabinets and cedar strip canoes. He was also a ruthless sheepshead card player, where he kept those talents and secrets to himself. Richard cared about his community. He was a proud blood donor for many years, where he was able to help countless people. His neighborhood held a special place in his heart, and he always enjoyed watching it grow. Above all, he was a family man, and loved his family dearly. Richard is the treasured husband for 62 years of Joyce; the beloved father of Kevin (Jeran Delaine) Seefeldt and Kurt (Teresa) Seefeldt; the loving grandfather of Ian (Jade Wong) Seefeldt, Frances (Kevin) Miller, Carter Seefeldt, Max Seefeldt, and Alexa Seefeldt: and the dear brother of Jim Seefeldt and the late Tom (survived by Jeanette) Seefeldt. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Richard's family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of his funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 12500 Canal Road, Sterling Heights.
