Robert Chris Park

Robert Chris Park, 73, passed away suddenly on May 3, 2025, in Knoxville, Tennessee. Born on October 10, 1951, in Royal Oak, Michigan, Robert was the son of the late Christian and Bernadette (Vachon) Park. Robert grew up in Royal Oak in a household with his sister, Denise Park, his late brother, Phillip Park, and his brother, Leo Park. Robert was married to the late Janice Park for 34 years, and although they divorced, they remained friends. He was the father of two sons, Phillip Park and Christopher Park, who, along with Chris's wife Rebecca, brought happiness to his life. He was also a proud grandfather to Owen, Nathan, Nick and Emma Park. Robert never hesitated to brag about his grandchildren's latest hockey tournament victories or successes in school. Robert had a very successful career at Bechtel as an electrical designer with a focus on the power industry. His career took him all over the country with time spent living in Texas, Michigan, Maryland, Alabama, Tennessee and Washington. After retirement, Robert spent his time in Richland, Washington and, most recently, Knoxville, Tennessee. Robert had a passion for fine wine and live music. In his retirement, you could usually find him combining these passions at some of his favorite wineries in Richland or restaurants in Knoxville. Robert was also a huge fan of college football, always cheering on and supporting the University of Michigan Wolverines. Robert's legacy is one of humor, hard work and kindness - a legacy that will live on through the memories he leaves behind and the lives he has touched. His warmth and generosity will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, May 30th, from 2 - 5 pm. (Memorial Service at 4 pm) at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Directors, 705 W. Eleven Mile Rd. (four blocks east of Woodward), Royal Oak, Michigan. An inurnment service will be held on Saturday, May 31st at 9:30 am at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 25800 W 10 Mile Rd., Southfield, Michigan.
