Robert N. Wright

Robert N. Wright, a loving husband, father, Papa, brother, and uncle passed away on January 25, 2025, at the age of 85. He was strong until the very end and passed "Bob's" way - on his own terms. Robert "Bob" was born on September 29, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan to his parents Thaddeus and Alice (Blanchard) Wright. Bob was a very talented athlete. After high school, he continued his education at the University of Detroit on a basketball scholarship, where he also played baseball. After college, he played minor league baseball, pitching for the Jamestown Tigers, a Class A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. Bob later became the Personnel Director of Chevrolet Engineering at General Motors. Following his baseball career, he also became an accomplished golfer, scoring multiple Hole in One's and Club Championships. His love of sports extended to supporting his children and grandchildren in their numerous sporting endeavors, dance recitals, and theater productions, where he was found cheering, or more accurately, coaching from the sidelines. Bob is survived by his son Robert M. Wright, and his daughters Kim (Jim) Suchara, and Kristin (Matt) Guinn. He also leaves behind six beloved grandchildren: Erin, Dana, Xzavier, Maxxin, Maguire, Kaidian, who will miss him dearly. Bob is also survived by his sister-in-law, MaryAnn Wright along with many nieces and nephews, who will also cherish his memory. Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Nina Wright, his parents, his brothers, Thad (Shirley) Wright and Loyd Wright. His passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. The Wright Family will receive family and friends to celebrate both Bob and Nina Wright on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road (3 blocks East of Van Dyke), Utica. A service to celebrate both of their lives will continue on Saturday, February 1, 2025.
