Ruth C. Angott

Ruth C. Angott (nee' O'Connor), a beloved wife, stepmother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully passed away on July 21, 2023, at the age of 91, in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Ruth was born on February 13, 1932, in Detroit, Michigan, to her late parents, Ernest Patrick and Mary Leonella (nee' Kaiser) O'Connor. Growing up in Detroit, Ruth's love for life and positive outlook shone brightly from an early age. She was an exceptional person, full of joy, and a true pleasure to be around. Her warmth and genuine kindness touched the hearts of all who knew her. Ruth's devotion to her faith was unwavering, and she was a longstanding member of St. Hugo of the Hills Catholic Church. She found solace and strength in her spiritual community and lived her life guided by its teachings. In her free time, Ruth pursued various hobbies and passions. She had a love for the game of golf, enjoyed sewing and crocheting, and found comfort in the pages of her favorite books. Traveling was another joy she cherished, allowing her to explore new places and create lasting memories. An avid Detroit Tigers fan, Ruth was no stranger to cheering on her team, and her enthusiasm for sports was contagious. The Tigers held a special place in her heart, and she relished every moment spent supporting them. During the winter months, Ruth found respite in her home on Marco Island, Florida, where she could soak in the sun and bask in the tranquility of the ocean. The time spent there brought her a sense of peace and rejuvenation. Above all, Ruth's greatest love was her family. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones and took great pride in being a devoted wife to her late husband, Peter P. Angott. As a stepmother, she showered her affection on Paul (Julie) Angott and Mark (Donna) Angott, forming lasting bonds with them. Ruth was a loving and doting grandmother to Stacey (Dominick) Angott-Velger, Jeff (Niki) Gadowski, Ryan (Jenna) Angott, Jamie Gadowski, Stephanie (Mike) McPherson, and Shannon (Matthew) Lorenz. She delighted in the company of her great-grandchildren: Hunter, Jacob, Amelia, Isabell, Emerson, and Evelyn. Her family was the light of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Ruth was preceded in death by her dear siblings, Josephine Daigle, Thomas O'Connor, Vincent O'Connor, Raymond O'Connor, and Marie O'Connor. Their memories, along with the memories of Ruth's joyful spirit, will forever live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her. Her departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, but the legacy of love and joy she leaves behind will be a guiding light for her family and friends. Ruth C. Angott will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for the warmth, kindness, and positivity she brought into the lives of others. May she rest in eternal peace.
