Sandra Berden

Sandra Jean Berden, age 75, of Hazel Park, passed away October 25, 2020, surrounded by her family and the music she loved. Sandra was born on September 18, 1945 in Detroit, MI, to the late Bernice Edith Bales and George Douglas Harlington. Sandy was the beloved wife of Dale Michael Berden. Loving mother of David Jullette II, Dawn Renee (Paul Corrin), Darrell Jullette, and Deidre Rose (Jeffrey Nell). Proud Mema of her grandchildren Ashley, Allison, Andrew, Aaron, Adam, Ava, Alivia, Abigail, and Adaline; and great-grandmother to Julietta. Dear sister of Marion (Jim) Kincannon and William Burnell. Also survived by many cherished nieces, nephews, and treasured brothers and sisters-in-law. Sandy shared the last 43 years with the love of her life, Dale, and cherished life as a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, As a true family woman, Sandy loved being around her family and making memories. She looked forward to hosting gatherings whether they were holidays, family reunions, pool days, backyard bonfires, or karaoke nights. She always welcomed family, friends and all those around her into both her heart and home. One of her favorite past times included being by the water—the beach, the pier, fishing—anywhere with water brought her such happiness. Sandy also enjoyed shopping, painting, road trips, playing bingo and cards, spending time at the casino, and club with her lifelong girlfriends. Sandra greatly enjoyed her career as a special education paraprofessional with the Hazel Park School District and made an impact in every student’s life she worked with until her retirement in 2010. After retirement, she was able to embrace life as a full-time Mema and great-grandmother leading her girl gang with such pride. Many times over the years she was faced with some of the toughest health battles and fought through each one, as she did everything in life, always coming out on top. Sandy was caring, patient, and incredibly strong. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by all that knew her. Visitation will take place Thursday, October 29, from 4 p.m. until time of service, 7 p.m., at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W. 11 Mile Rd. (4 blocks east of Woodward), Royal Oak.
